This about sums up how I am feeling right now, I have been through a strange few days on one level, Del is either reacting to the new pills or what he has read about them, I am still open on that one, Lau's plans have chopped and changed and finally I get word saying she is coming along with Sa on the Thursday and leaving on the Monday, rather than the week originally mentioned - I find I am unaffected by all the outer swings and roundabouts......
Listened to a couple of good things that some will enjoy listening too
and the book of the week is interesting historically, a dramitised version of the Diary's of Kipling and Mrs Reece and again shows up how much some things haven't changed, re Kipling's comments {talking of the Boer war} on how folks only believe that which they read in the papers
An exploration of the 20th century through real correspondence from the great, the good, and the ordinary.
And Is There Honey Still for Tea?
By Vanessa Rosenthal
I begin the creative process. I give direction to my life.
I set my course.
After watching thousands of people make and manifest their intentions over the years, we began to notice a common thread. We saw that those who started out their day by setting their intentions had an entirely different experience than those who didn't. Their life had a direction to it. Things came easier for them. They struggled less and had more moments of pure joy because that's how you feel when your desires are being fulfilled.
"So far, your journey has shown you that all things are alive. The wind, the animals, the bodies of water, Great Nature Herself - all are Living Beings with whom you can communicate. What you have forgotten is that Intent is a Living Being, as well. It waits, like an old friend, for you to call upon it. When you reestablish your friendship with Intent and set your course in life, your willpower will return. From then on, you will no longer need to rely upon other men "men who are violent by nature" to lead you. You will be your own leader."
Suddenly, a new strength came into my body. Something in my solar plexus relaxed. Then it felt like a fire began to smolder inside my belly. I knew, in that moment, that I could overcome anything.
"You must learn to use your power wisely, my brother, so that you can deliver The Code to your people," he said. "Your world has seen enough of violence. It needs someone who is firmly lined up with Great Oneness; someone who can set a course for others to follow."
Sitting Bull's words resonated deep within me, striking a chord I yearned to hear, but had almost forgotten about.
As if knowing my thoughts, he continued, "Perhaps if I tell you a story, it will help you set your course in life and walk the path you chose for yourself long ago," he said. "It was in the year 1876 and my people, the Lakota Sioux, were engaged in a fierce battle with the blue-coated soldiers along the Yellowstone River . Crazy Horse and I were leading our people, but he was too young and excited by the fighting to notice that we were losing far too many of our strongest braves, and it was time to retreat.
"I went to his side and pointed this out to him, but he was wanting to continue the fight. He rallied the remaining young warriors, and, against my insistence, he was readying to attack again. I had to do something to stop it.
"And so, while Crazy Horse and his men were preparing to charge, I walked slowly into the center of the battlefield, sat down crosslegged, lit my sacred pipe, and called upon my good friend, Intent. I began my offering by giving great thanks for Intent being with me, and I asked him to protect me while I prayed to Great Oneness for guidance.
"For over a quarter of an hour, the soldiers fired upon me. Bullets plowed up the ground all around my body, but none touched me. You see, my brother, Intent and I were old friends, and I knew I could count on him.
"When I saw that Crazy Horse and the young braves had finally come to their senses, I slowly put my pipe away and walked back to my horse. My people followed me that day because they saw the power of my connection with Intent."
He was still for a long time, then he said, "This is the Third Intent, my brother. You are to know that you can do anything when you have Set Your Course in life. You and all of your people are powerful beyond measure. You can create anything you choose. Your heart can be at peace, just as your world can be at peace. But first you must say good-bye to your apathy and begin to reacquaint yourself with your old friend, Intent."
