Calendars and consciusness

Opportunity came to sit in the sun and meditate - as I had just been watching/listening to the lecture from Ian Lungold { Ian Lungold passed from this realm on November 16, 2005, to continue his work from another perspective.}with regard to the Mayan calendar, you can find it on you tube - or read more here
A calendar is the dead center of any civilization's consciousness, said Lungold, representing the intersection of time and place as your point of view or location of consciousness. The Gregorian calendar (est. 1582) is pinned to physical events - the rotation of the Earth around the Sun every 365 ¼ days. The Maya, who used a total of 17 calendars, had one like this called the Haab, but it was used only for commerce and tax purposes. The Tun was the prophetic calendar. It was based on the 7 day/6 night cycle of creation familiar to us via the Old Testament, which came from the ancient Sumerians. Apparently both the Mayans and Sumerians had access to the same body of wisdom about the arc of evolution in this solar system that began 16.4 billion years ago. We'll all be going completely out of our minds and coming into present time, says Lungold, between now and 2011, when we head into the last year of the cycle. We're moving past the limitations of the mind and into the intuitive space referred to as "The Zone" in athletics, when a player reaches a point of perfect equanimity and is able to perform superhuman feats like lifting 350 lbs. overhead. It is the space of "no mind" also found through meditation and sacred sexuality. Science has found that while in this Zone, your whole brain lights up and every cell is activated--it's how we're meant to live. The key is getting centered, which comes from regular practice. Lungold likens it to a spinning gyroscope with a calm center that keeps it from falling over. If there is a broken piece, then it will fly apart. This is basically what we will be challenged to do in the next six years: stay so centered in our intuitive knowing that we don't fly apart as consciousness accelerates and world events grow more intense.
For more information see Dr Carl Johan Calleman's site - he and Lungold worked together, certainly some interesting ideas/thoughts to mull over.....

The Global Oneness Commitment

The Global Oneness Commitment is an eight-year project with the goal of uniting people around the globe to mutual actions in order to not only save what we have, but to transform the planet thru an increase in spiritual awareness - a new consciousness creating a joyful home for all its inhabitants and sincere respect for all forms of life.

You know that old adage about God grant me the wisdom etc etc - how about updating it to Us knowing when it is time to create and when to receive, we are essentially receivers and emitters, we breathe in receiving, we breathe out we emit, the pauses in between is the point of CHOICE, chose what to receive and chose what to emit?
We are still coming to the end of an Ice Age so why is everyone so surprised that the ice caps are melting, it is up to us to adapt to this event not lose ourselves in fear {and taxes LOL}. We all suffer from gullibility believing like babes what comes out of the mouths of "ex- spurts" we need to gather our own evidence and experience to question and discover for OURSELVES and that means to reading/listening/watching with an open mind to all thoughts ideas and opinions.

As for life on Earth, we Eternals in bodies with feelings and mental constructs learned some unhelpful habits a long time ago. Besides these learned bad habits, we also have collective dis-eases that we suffer until we reach a certain level of spiritual practice. Just as there are physical viruses (virii?), there are also emotional (astral) viruses and mental viruses.

For instance, Fear is a pandemic that has never been adequately dealt with, though we have many examples of people who have overcome fear completely. We overcome individual and collective problems by getting our “spiritual immune system” in shape, which involves constant personal attunement, understanding growth is eternal yet always in the here and Now, perfection always down the Path, and the Eternal Beneficence always available.

Our soul is an enthusiastic, adventurous vehicle, but our body tends toward complacency and becoming comfortable with routines. It seems that we need our apple cart upset every so often in order to break us out of our malaise

Our limiting beliefs create our limited reality

Neandertals in western Europe were ravaged by an increasingly hostile climate rather than an invasion of modern humans, according to new research. Beset by freezing conditions and food shortages, populations of Neandertals (often spelled "Neanderthals") dwindled between 40,000 and 35,000 years ago, the research suggests.

Had to share this quote from Paul Theroux's Pillar's of Hercules - he is in Alexandria and strikes up conversation with a lawyer called Mohamed - bear in mind that this was back in the mid nineties!!
Paul - "Are you a religious person?"
Mohamed - No. I have no0 religion. Religion is false. Christian, Muslim, Jewish - all false."
P - "Why do you think that?"
M - "Because they cause trouble."
P - "Don't they bring peace and understanding too?"
M - "People should be friends. I think it is easier to be friends without religion. You can have peace without religion. Peace is easier too, without religion."

And as Bill Hicks once said if you are a Christian and don't like what I say then forgive me :)

Conscious Choices

1:55 PM - Conscious choice
Current mood: mellow
Category: Life

It is easy for the individual, caught up in living life, to forget that we are still going through a transitory phase of this planet, which could be likened to child birth, so there will be continued pain, it cannot be dodged, we have to see in all its horror what we have collectively created over the past "age" and we really do have to take responsibilty for it, thereby making it easier for not only ourselves as individuals but for the collective/humanity. To take responsibilty is not to take the blame or to become defensive, believing yourself to be far above all the hatred and horror, what have we all been in past incarnations I wonder, but we are seeing the results, so time to move onward and upward and use our senses for more than just the physical realm

Your choice to evolve consciously through RESPONSIBLE CHOICE not only contributes to your evolution, but also to the evolution of humanity
If you wish the world to be more loving and compassionate, then become more loving and compassionate yourself, if you wish to diminish fear in the world then diminish your own. These are the gifts we all can give. The fear that exists between nations is a macrocosm of the fear that exists between individuals. The perception of power as external that separates nations is the same that exists between individuals
After millennia of brutality to one another, individual and group, it is now abundantly clear to us that the insecurity which underlies this perception of power external cannot be healed by the accumulation of external power. It is evident for all to see, be it the media or the countless sufferings of individuals and species, that the perception of power external brings only pain, violence and destruction. This is how we have evolved till now, and this is what we are leaving behind......
