All is quiet on the western front this morning as everyone is having a long lie in on this their last day.
Sa and Maria took all the kids except Bobsy to waterworld at Torre yesterday, kids had fine time - but for adults all a bit much too many people too long a queues too hot outrageously expensive, but an experience, so having fed and watered them the boys went off to play pool and Iona settled down to watch a dvd, the first all hols, by midnight everyone but Tracy Maria and me were settled and on the way to sleepy land, T M n me then decided to pop up to Bar Neuvo, where we came upon the Croatians about to leave some a little merry to be sure, well they offered us a drink, be rude to refuse LOL so 3 tinto veranos thank you very much, it was quite lively with folks still out eating and children running about, nice ambience so we had another and then were about to leave when Paco rushed up saying his Dad Antonio wanted us to have drink on the house hey ho, so we got in about 1.30......I don't think there has been an early night since they all arrived 10 days ago and far too many Tintos LOL ah well back to "normality" soon enough
As it happened the Croatians didn't need me again after last Wed so I have had plenty of time with everyone and Sa and Tracy came and helped me clean and change linen for them all on Saturday, bless their cotton sox :)
All the kids had a blast over the feria the dodgems being their fav and the fireworks were a good show this year well so Sa says I heard them but my bed was too comfortable I saw Sa sit up and bolt out on to the terrace where Del already was waiting for them the rest of us just couldn't hang on till 3......
Despite having and extra 9 folks in the house it hasn't been a strain, the kids have had their space and so have we....but it IS gonna feel AWFULLY quiet after their departure
I have just started another Isabel Allende book Inés of my soul - coincidence - "Just as the desperate and hungry young peasants of Extremadura and
Andalucia once swallowed their fears to gamble everything on a voyage
across the Atlantic, thousands of poor Ecuadorians began struggling to
raise the funds for a flight to Madrid." {read on} [what goes around comes around]
This is the plant that Spanish explorers brought home and spread
throughout the Mediterranean. Today, it is one of the great iconic
plants of Andalucía.

Thanks to PurlPower for this link The Idler Garden I have bookmarked to go back to and have a "proper" look
We know that the Sun is many times larger then the Moon. Yet,
miraculously, at a solar eclipse the Moon slides slowly in front of the
disc of the Sun and appears to match it in size. In a total eclipse
like the one occurring later today, they coincide precisely. This is
solely down to geometry - Geo = earth or land, metry (from greek metron) =
measure. The Sun's diameter may be 400 times larger than the Moon's but
from the Earth it measures up as 400 times further away giving us the
visual spectacle of totality.
Eclipses in Leo seem to act strongly and quickly as the Sun is in its
own sign. It's interesting to note that Leo is, amongst other things,
the sign of showmanship and theatrics. In just 8 days time one of the
greatest shows on the face of the Earth - the opening ceremony at the
Olympic Games takes place and this eclipse occurs above China. That's
millions, if not billions, of eyes pointing to one part of our globe
twice in the same period.
Something ends and something new begins as a result of eclipses like
this. A door closes just as another opens. It's advisable to step
through it willingly rather than waiting to be pushed. Create change
consciously. Usually by now one knows what it is that needs to move
into the next phase but with Mars/Uranus and other aspects around the
events of the next 8 weeks or so could be fast moving and far reaching.{read more}
