Happy New Year

In total up to 80 litres fell in Malaga in just 24 hours, with more than 30 litres everywhere else.

In some parts of the region there have been nearly 300 litres over less than a week.

“We had had 230 litres in just four days,” said vineyard owner Jose
Ramos Paul, in Ronda. “It is the heaviest rainfall we have seen here in
ten years.

This was taken from the Olive Press yep it has been very wet and I have been out on the campo :)

But before the heavens opened Ruth Remy and I had a lovely lunch out at Wendy's - the sun shone food yummy - giant yorkshire puds, well after that I went out to J & A's and got settled in fed Hector and all the cats, lit a big log fire and chilled watching dvd's filched from Wendy......
Friday came as did the clouds Saturday wasn't much better but it was OK but bloody cold on Sunday when I came in to check on Norman and Stinkers then meet up with Jason who was taking me to lunch :) Norman by the way is someone [in his 70's] who needs a roof over his head for a while - he was robbed and left homeless and has to sort it out with the consulate, not the best time of year to get anything official sorted either, ah well at least Stinkers has company while I am away as it turns out a bloody good job too as I couldn't have driven back - I managed back on the Wed as I was going to take Ruth and Wendy shopping but the weather was soo bad there was no way I was venturing out of the pueblo, so I got what I needed and went back to the campo and apart from the sun shining on Christmas eve afternoon it rained and it rained - if there was a break then the wind howled through, solar gave up as did the leccy for a while, well I certainly got the chance to be on my own LOL
The other great thing about where I was staying is that the bathroom and kitchen are both across a courtyard so wellies and mac every outing, even the phone only seemed to get a connection if I went outside. The rained stopped as abruptly as if a director has said CUT Sat night only to be replaced by high winds again, sitting in firelight listening to it howling down off the mountain, clouds scudding so fast by the early hours the sky had been cleaned of every cloud - bright with a 3/4 full moon and stars......

New Years day and as usual I am behind with the blog - well I spent last night quietly - the weather wasn't conducive to joining in the mayhem in the plaza, well not for me anyway and it felt right to stay at home - not technically on my own as Norman is still here with me, sitting in my favourite place duvet tucked around him reading - which has been sporadic today as the electricity has been on & off with great rapidity, more wind disruption than storms. I did get a chance to speak to Lau who said it was minus 14 up at Stu's Ma n Pa's and they got back to Edinburgh just in time as the road down from the highlands was closed at some point in the day due to more snow.
I think A & J must have decided it wasn't worth the drive in - can't say I blame them.

"How would courage & truth & mercy & right action strike you?"
"But these are not gods" I say
".......what do you think a god looks like when he works in men?"
..........long ago she had decided history does not repeat itself; but perhaps when I thing is true it went on returning in a different likeness, borrowing from what went before, finding new ways to declare itself........ [Miss Garnett's Angel Sally Vickers]

Did you see the Blue Moon in it's partial eclipse? The wind kept the clouds moving so we got glimpses.......2010 a decade to look back on - we were still in Kilneiss - no thought of what was to follow......good job eh?
Well I must go and walk the dog while the sky is blue hope you all had a fun filled night and not suffering too much :) Blessings be xx
