Update

I am sorry for not replying to folks but it has been kinda hectic.....anyway news of Del - yesterday he was awake for the first time, off the machines and hopefully he will be moved into a ward today but they will wait until we are there and if he is to be moved do it while we are there, moving into a ward means he can now have visitors and I can stay all day and possibly night as well. The Doctor told it straight - he has taken one helluva pounding and IC can do no more for him, he has to do it himself now - and the Dr. feels [as I do to] that quality of life is more important and to be able to have family around him is best right now, they want him to be able to be home asap as they feel that it is better for him to be in his own surroundings - if he has another stroke we are to let him go as  his body couldn't handle the machines a second time, I can't really say much more, we just have to take a day at a time and hopefully he will pull himself through, his left side is a gonner BUT can be healed with physio and of course Pete will do all in his power to help this side of it - his mind seems OK - and he was responding to Lau n I yesterday with nods shakes and squeezes of hand - Lau had said to him the night before that she wanted him awake and winking at her which God Bless him he tried to do and was blinking both eyes as hard as he could, he tried to raise himself to give me a kiss - ah shit it is all very emotional, - me I am hanging in there and the night before last exhaustion finally caught up with me, so after a couple of glasses of wine I finally slept - for nine hours, up till then I could only manage an hour or 2 each night - and last night I slept properly, I was supposed to be cooking for the guests at La Era last night but luckily Christine stepped in a did it for me - everyone but everyone has been absolutely fantastic, Spanish and English, walking through the pueblo takes a long time with everyone asking how he is and sending their love. There barely seems time each day to do everything obviously my priority is keeping family updated. Lau and I going to start rearranging the house for Del's homecoming and I am going to ask Isabel if I can have La Era for a few days when he comes out then everyone can come over at the same time and as there are downstairs bedrooms - we can manage the wheelchair if he still needs it......OK guys many many thanks for all the good thoughts love and stuff being sent his way - keep it up please :) we still have a way to go........if you don't hear from me for a while it's coz I am staying  at the hospital.........
